The Art Center hosted a candlelit dinner with artist Leng Hong to give the artist an opportunity to introduce his works to collectors and art connoisseurs. Renown restaurateur David Laris created a special menu for the evening to complement the works of Leng Hong, which are largely inspired by scenes from the Song and Tang dynasty.

Leng Hong is one of the few great oil painters of modern Chinese art. His brilliant use of the juxtaposition of two-dimensional expressionist perspective with multiple cameos in one tableau creates a masterful three-dimensional depth to his works. By adding marble powder to his oils, Leng Hong develops a textural aspect in his paintings, built up in multiple layers.
